Medical Conditions - Arterial Embolization

This procedure is done to block the blood supply to a tumor or an abnormal tissue. First, a small incision is made on the inner thigh, and a catheter is inserted (a thin tube) through the incision into the artery near the tumor. Then, through the help of a catheter, tiny particles of gelatin are injected, which blocks the artery and stops the blood flow to other healthy tissues.
