Cerebral malaria is a severe cerebral complication caused by Plasmodium falciparum infection. The patient experiences unconsciousness for more than 30 minutes after a seizure attack. Malignant retinopathy is a complication associated with cerebral malaria. Cerebral malaria is treated using artemisinin and cinconcha alkaloids. Cerebral malarial have a high mortality rate. Some patients might experience psychosis, seizures, and cranial nerve damage even after recovery.
