Diverticula is a small bulging pouch formed in the lining of the digestive system. They often form on the lower portion of the large intestine. If more than one pouches get inflamed, they result in causing diverticulitis. Mild cases are treated by taking rest, changing diet, and antibiotics. In severe cases, surgery is required.
