Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, also known as ERCP, uses X-rays and endoscopes to diagnose and treat liver, pancreas, bile duct, and gall bladder problems. Blockages, stones, infections, and cancer in the above organs can be detected using ERCP. ERCP is also performed to break and remove stones, place stents to open blocked ducts, remove tumors, and obtain biopsy samples
