Medical Conditions - Eye Infection

Eye infection can present as itchy and watery eyes, redness, swelling, eye discharge, burning sensation, eye irritation, teary eye, etc. Conjunctivitis or pink eye is the most common eye infection caused by bacteria or viruses. A stye is the infection of the eyelid causing lumps on the eyelid. Uveitis is the inflammation of the middle layer of the eye or uvea. Keratitis is a corneal inflammation and is common among contact lens users. Antimicrobial eye drops are used to treat and relieve the symptoms.
