Consuming contaminated or spoilt food can cause food poisoning leading to diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, fever, abdominal pain, weakness, headache, etc. E.coli, Listeria, Salmonella, Campylobacter, C.botulinum, Toxoplasma, norovirus, sapovirus, and rotavirus mainly cause food poisoning. Meat, dairy, and eggs are frequently found to be contaminated. Treatment includes antimicrobials and rehydration with fluid and electrolytes, with which food poisoning resolves within two or three days.
