Gender dysphoria is a sense of distress or discomfort that occurs in people whose gender identity varies from their gender-related physical characteristics or sex assigned at birth. People with gender dysphoria often have a strong desire to have secondary sex characteristics and genitals of another gender. It mostly begins in childhood and may continue till adolescence or adulthood.
