Medical Conditions - Gram Staining

Gram staining is a technique employed by Hans Christian Gram to characterize and differentiate bacteria based on their cell wall constituents. They are categorized as gram-positive and gram-negative bacteriae. This staining technique uses a primary crystal violet stain, iodine to trap the primary stain in the bacterial cell wall, ethanol to decolorize, and safranin for counterstaining.
