Hidradenitis suppurativa is a painful chronic skin condition affecting the armpits, groin, breasts, and anal region. These get cleared on their own but recur. They cause abscesses and scarring. These are pimple-like lesions with pus or blood leakage. Treatment includes antibiotics, retinoids, antidiabetics, steroids, and hormone-based medications. Smoking and obesity are risk factors.
