Infectious mononucleosis is also called glandular fever, which is caused by the Epstein Barr virus (EBV). It commonly spreads through saliva and rarely through blood or semen. The symptoms are fever, fatigue, sore throat, rashes, and swollen lymph nodes in the neck and armpits. It can be treated by taking adequate rest, fluids, and medications.
