A skin condition where the skin becomes thickened (lichenification) due to repeated friction, itching, or scratching is called lichen simplex chronicus. The skin becomes dry, scaly, and hyperpigmented. It is commonly seen in people suffering from seborrheic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and psoriasis.
