Medical Conditions - Ototoxic Medications

Medications that cause hearing loss or balance problems are known as ototoxic medications. These medications cause damage to the sensory cells of the inner ear. Examples of ototoxic medications include loop diuretics, aminoglycosides, antibiotics, chemotherapeutic agents, Quinine, and Acetaminophen. The symptoms generally resolve with stopping ototoxic medications.
