Pityriasis capitis or dandruff is one of the most common issues in many people. It appears as a white flake on the scalp which causes itching and appears on the forehead and shoulders after combing. Dandruff occurs due to various reasons such as oily or dry skin, Malassezia (a yeast fungus that sits on the oily scalp), or reaction to certain hair products. Mild dandruff can be treated through medicated shampoo.
