Medical Conditions - Prosthesis

A prosthesis is an artificial replacement for a biological organ. Prostheses are used in all sorts of surgeries to replace damaged and diseased parts. They are usually made up of biologically inert materials such as titanium and do not usually elicit an allergic reaction. These prosthetic devices may be attached using screws, cement, snap-fit into the region, or a combination of all three.
