Pterygium, also called eye web, is an eye condition characterized by the growth of fleshy tissue on the conjunctiva. Dry eyes, eye exposure to UV rays, and irritants like wind and dust are common causes of this condition. It causes itching and a burning sensation in the eyes. Eye drops are prescribed to relieve the redness and irritation caused by this condition.
