Medical Conditions - Serum Electrolyte Level

Serum electrolyte level is the amount of electrolytes like sodium, potassium, chloride, etc., in the serum. Sodium helps to regulate the amount of fluid in the body and also helps in nerve and muscle functions. Chloride also helps in regulating body fluids. An increase in body fluids due to increased intake of water or decreased fluid level due to dehydration causes alteration in the serum electrolyte levels.
