Medical Conditions - Sperm Formation

The process of sperm formation (spermatogenesis) takes place in the testicles in successive phases, permanently throughout a man’s life. Production of a mature sperm starts with the formation of spermatogonia by the testicles, some of which migrate to the seminiferous tubules and are called spermatocytes. Spermatocytes undergo meiosis and produce spermatids, which matures to form spermatozoa. This entire process takes about 64 days.
