A stye is a red and painful bump caused due to bacterial infection of the oil-secreting gland of the eyelids. The other symptoms include watery eye, swollen eyelid, gritty sensation in the eye, light sensitivity, and eye pain. Warm compresses and antibiotic cream are used to treat it.
