Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I have read your issues. Coughing up blood can be a symptom of many diseases like throat or chest infection, tuberculosis, bronchiectasis (a disease where your windpipes are damaged) or lung cancer. A detailed history of complaints and your reports are needed to determine the reason. If you are below 40 years and coughing up blood only for a few days, it is likely a chest infection or tuberculosis (TB).
Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I understand your concern. I went through your issue. I would require some details to understand your illness better. Kindly explain or upload the following: What were your initial symptoms when you were diagnosed with tuberculosis? Kindly upload your initial X-ray report and sputum test report.
Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. A Formamide inhaler is a good medicine for asthma. Is that dose right for you or not? Depends on your level of asthma control. If it is well controlled, it can be continued. However, if, over the last three months, your symptoms were well controlled, you may be able to come down with the inhaler dose.
Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. Patients with long-standing COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) who require controlled oxygen therapy should be given it to avoid suppression of hypoxic respiratory drive. So, unless they are on BIPAP (bilevel positive airway pressure) or invasive ventilatory support, oxygen should not be given with FiO2 (fraction of inspired oxygen) above 28%. If given above that, the hypoxic respiratory drive in these patients will be abolished without ventilatory support. They will further hypoventilate, leading to the worsening of hypercarbia and carbon dioxide narcosis.
Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I have gone through the history of your father's illness, which you have provided (attachment removed to protect patient identity). The X-ray reports are suggestive of pneumonia. At this stage, on initial antibiotics and supportive treatment, if he has not improved, bronchoscopy may be essential to isolate the organism that has caused pneumonia. This will help to guide antibiotic therapy.
Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. Post-bronchodilator forced expiratory volume (FEV)1/FVC (forced vital capacity) is less than 70. FEV 1 is more than 80 (attachment removed to protect patient identity). No reversibility indicative of asthma in the post-study. It seems to suggest mild COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
Hi,Welcome to icliniq.com.There are a lot of causes for pulmonary embolism. The most common reason is the formation of clots in the leg, known as deep venous thrombosis. It can be due to long-term immobility and prolonged surgery. When there are no clots in the body, we have to check for any deficiency in blood-clotting factors.
Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. Thanks for reaching out, and I understand your concerns completely. If your asthma symptoms aren’t well controlled, a thorough evaluation is needed to determine why. You may need to change your inhaler or medication. It's also important to identify any allergies you may have and avoid those triggers.
Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. Percentage predicted means how much is your observed value to the expected value. The computer predicts based on your height, age and gender and on equations how much your FEV1 (forced expiratory volume) and FVC (forced vital capacity) values should be if you are normal. Then in the test we calculate how much are your actual values. To say as normal in FEV1 and FVC we want your calculated value to be not less than 80 percent of your expected.
Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I went through your husband's history provided by you. By PE I assume you are referring to pulmonary embolism and not pericardial effusion. Are the tubes still present? If so the tube rubbing the pleura while taking a deep breath can cause the pain. Pulmonary embolism which may have cut off blood supply to part of the lung can cause the pain.
