Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I read your query and understood your concern. It is common for chronic ear infections to continue from childhood into adolescence. The eczema you describe may be due to irritation of the skin inside the ear canal from chronic discharge or a fungal infection. Itching in the ears can be suggestive of a fungal condition.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. Most of the times, a sore throat is due to a viral infection. This occurs with or without some amount of acid reflux into the throat from within the food pipe. This condition is called Laryngopharyngeal Reflux Disease (LPRD) and this may present simply with a sore throat and without any other symptoms of gastritis. I would, therefore, recommend antiseptic mouth gargles with Chlorhexidine or dilute Betadine, three times a day before and after meals along with a good proton pump inhibitor such as tablet Esomeprazole 40 mg once in the morning 15 minutes before meals for one week.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. I have seen the pictures. (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Your description and the images point to acute granular tonsillopharyngitis, a bacterial throat infection, probably due to streptococcus. With low grade fever, throat pain, difficulty in speaking, swallowing and enlarged tender lymph nodes, you certainly need a course of antibiotics.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. It is possible to have hearing loss after a head injury, especially if it was as severe as in your case where it leads to a fracture. Our ear consists of three little bones called ossicles which help in taking the vibrations of sound from the ear drum to the inner ear (cochlea). These little bones may have easily been dislocated due to the impact of your injury. This will cause a hearing loss of 40 - 50%.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. It is surprising that you were not started on medications despite your tonsillitis and throat complaints. It may be possible that your symptoms or findings were subclinical when you saw the doctor and it may have worsened further since then. It sounds like a throat infection for which you may need a course of antibiotics. On an online portal such as this, it is not recommended for me to prescribe antibiotics without an in-person evaluation.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. Sorry to hear about your injury. Since your CT (computed tomography) scan is normal, it is very unlikely that there is any bony or skeletal injury hence reducing the possibility of something permanent. It appears that there is some soft tissue injury in the laryngopharyngeal region or a cartilaginous injury that is resolving very slowly. This indicates an injury closer to the voice box region because of constant movements during speech, laughter and swallowing delay recovery.
Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. The itching in your ear is very suggestive of a fungal infection in the ear canal. This is very common and the main symptom is itching. Impacted ear wax can also create itching along with a fungal infection. Since you use earbuds, you may have impacted wax too.
