What is the chance of anaphylaxis to local anesthetic?

Hi doctor,

I am 27 years old and really worried about developing anaphylaxis to a local anesthetic. Even though I have had it twice without any problems, I would just like some information on how likely this is to happen and some information to help me put my mind to rest and stop worrying.

How to get rid of smart gadget addiction in children?

Hello doctor,

I am seeking advice for my girl who is turning four this year. I used to let her watch shows and rhymes every time she refused to eat. She is always sneaking around to get hold of the device. Keeping her away from this has become a big pain. She is throwing tantrums and becoming restless when I do not give her the device. Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

What does a low platelet count suggest?

Hello doctor,

My son is seventeen years old. Recently, he was diagnosed with a low platelet count in his blood. To start, I would greatly appreciate your insights into the role of platelets in the body. Could you provide an explanation of what platelets are, how they are produced, and their vital function in the blood clotting process? Furthermore, I am curious about the factors that affect platelet count and function. Are there medical conditions or lifestyle choices that could lead to abnormal platelet counts? How do one's diet, exercise routine, and overall health influence the performance of platelets in the body? What are the symptoms or risks associated with thrombocytopenia (low platelet count)? How is it managed?

Please help.

What can be done to improve immunity in 4 years kid?

Hello doctor,

My daughter is 4 years and 2 months old. She develops a very bad cough and then along with fever in a day or two. She had a wheezing problem previously so the doctor had prescribed to give Budecort and Levolin puffs or nebulization. So every time when she develops this kind of a dry cough, I am not able to differentiate whether it is just a dry cough or wheezing related. Her cough kind of gets worse in two days and also while sleeping, she coughs continuously. My doctor has suggested giving Ascoril LS and if a cough does not subside then try giving Levolin. What medication should be followed? Also, Metal-P has to be given if the fever crosses 101 degrees Fahrenheit but my concern is which thermometer has to be followed. The touch thermometer or the digital one as both show different readings. She gets a fever every six months and we end up admitting her for high-grade fever. What should I do to improve her immunity? She has also started complaining of leg pain once in 2 or 3 months and I was told it is growth pain. Is it of any concern and is there anything that I can follow to prevent it?
