Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 34-year-old female who has given birth vaginally to two babies. Over the past few days, I have been experiencing pain in the lower right abdomen and back, accompanied by white discharge. Additionally, I have been frequently experiencing the urge to urinate. Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for your query.
I understand that you have been experiencing an increased frequency of urination and a heightened urge to urinate. I would like to inquire if you are also experiencing any vaginal or vulval itching, as well as if the discharge has a foul smell.
Based on these symptoms, it appears that you may have both a genital tract and urinary tract infection. This occurrence is not uncommon since these two areas are close to each other.
To determine the most effective treatment approach, I recommend you take a high vaginal swab and endocervical swab microscopy, culture, and sensitivity test. Additionally, a urinalysis and urine microscopy, culture, and sensitivity test would also be beneficial. The results of these tests will provide valuable information to choose the appropriate treatment, which will most likely involve antibiotics. The tests will help us select the most suitable antibiotic for your specific case.
Once the results of the investigations are ready, I encourage you to follow up with me so that we can discuss the next steps based on the findings.
I hope I have addressed your concerns. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
Thank you.
