Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My child was suffering from a stomach infection two days back. She was having episodes of vomiting, and diarrhea, but no fever. Her CBC report showed a high basophil count. She had several immunizations during the doctor's visit. The blood was drawn for a TB test. Would residual viral infection cause this type of elevation in the blood reports? Looking at the reports, all other white blood subsets were within normal range. She is fine now. Do you have any suggestions?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
The high basophil count in the CBC (complete blood count) blood test reports of your child may be because of the stomach infection. Please include the medication she has received for the infection including the dosage and duration. It will give me a better understanding of her situation.
I hope this helps you out.
Kindly follow up with the details.
Thanks and regards.
