Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have red acne on my forehead and right cheek. I am a student and unable to consult an offline dermatologist due to financial issues.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through the details provided from your end and have viewed the image, and I understand your concern. Acne is caused due to multiple factors, including genetic susceptibility, wherein there is a similar condition that runs within your family and can be transmitted genetically; due to hormonal factors, which are age-related; and due to dietary factors and climatic conditions.
I would like to give you some advice:
Salicylic acid-based face wash to be used twice daily. Apply in a sufficient quantity and massage in gentle circular motions for one minute, then wash off. Use in the morning and at night. It may continue for months.
Clinmiskin gel (Clindamycin) to be applied on the affected spots in the morning until the rashes clear.
Peroclin 2.5 percent gel (contains Clindamycin and Benzoyl Peroxide) for night-time application on the affected acne until the acne heals.
After inspecting the images provided, you may also require an oral antibiotic. Due to the fact that you are young, it requires an in-person consultation with a doctor in order to prescribe an oral antibiotic, depending upon your history of allergies to antibiotics and your current condition.
Limcee chewable tablets 500 mg (contains vitamin C) taken once daily after breakfast for one month. Make sure to avoid extremely hot food and extremely hot drinks, and milk during the consumption of the tablet, as they may result in abdominal discomfort for some individuals.
Make sure to avoid oily and fried food, sweets, red meat, milk, and dairy products. Make sure to include more fruits, vegetables, fiber, and at least 10 glasses of water per day in a 250 ml-plus size.
Since you are really young, and the fact that hormonal fluctuations happen during this age group, it is common to have acne. This medication would help in reducing the intensity of acne. As you grow older, the hormones would regularize, thereby resulting in a reduction in the appearance of acne.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
