Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have acne and acne scars issues. Kindly guide.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com
I understand your concern. Pimple is somewhat hormonal and due to oily skin
1. Do not use hair oil and any sticky cream on your face.
2. avoid oily food, chocolate, and milk products.
3. Avoid dust, use sunscreen( above 30 SPF).
4. Any cream do not rub it on the face.
5. Do not use any steroid creams.
6. Continue treatment for atleast one month.
7. Facewash or soap is not a treatment and is not much used in full.
8. Do not touch acne and avoid pressing it.
For treatment:
1. Clindamycin ( Clintop, Faceclin, Clear gel) - this is more preventive and curative so I tell patients to use it all over the face in the morning
2. Adapalene gel (Adapalene, Defferine,)– I tell to use it over acne in the night.
3. Tablet doxy 100 mg once a day.
Post-acne scars are three types box scars, icepick (pinpoint scars), and rolling scars. pinpoint scars are difficult to treat while box scars are easy.
1. No crams or tablets can help you out with scars
2. Best technique is CO2 Fractional laser + subscision. It takes five to six sitting but results are better than any other procedure
3. Dermaroller + subscision is also another method but less effective than above
3. Filler is a hiding effect it fills the pits and gives the impression of fullness. It is not permanent.
4. Chemical peels if scars are not much prominent then peels also could be effective.
These are techniques you can go through. All procedures take four to six sittings and five to six months for better results. I hope this helps.
Thank you.
