How to resolve big pimples along the cheeks and chin?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 25 years old and have been dieting to lose weight, but I have started getting these big pimples along my cheeks and chin. They are leaving bad scars, and it is really frustrating. I do not know what to do about it. Is it something to do with my diet, or is there another underlying issue? I have always had pretty clear skin, so this is new to me. It is really affecting my confidence, especially since the scars are so noticeable. I have tried some over-the-counter treatments, but nothing seems to be working. What can I do to prevent these breakouts and heal the scars? Is there a specific type of skincare routine or medication I should be using? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your first query consult is on us!

Lifestyle changes to be made include:

1. Including more salads and green leafy vegetables in the diet. It helps to modulate your gut activity and improves your glycemic profile (blood glucose test measures the glucose levels in the blood).

2. Cutting down on carbs and eating a balanced diet.

3. Eating meals at regular times every day. An erratic schedule of meals worsens the gut health.

4. Breathing exercises and meditation help decrease stress and improve gut health. So daily exercise with meditation is very fruitful to improve your symptoms.

5. Adequate sleep and sleeping schedule should be maintained. An erratic sleep schedule too worsens gut health.

6. Apply Clindamycin ointment (antibiotic) on the face daily for a month. Consult your doctor and take the medicine accordingly.

I hope that you get your answer.

Please let me know if you want more help.

Thank you.
