Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been suffering from acne for more than four years. I have tried several skin care products, but nothing seems to work. Do you have any recommendations? I have sensitive, oily, and acne-prone skin.
Currently, I am using Cetaphil gentle cleanser and Cetaphil daily exfoliating cleanser I also use Acneed toner and lotion, Celeteque acne-free moisturizing gel, and sunscreen in the morning.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I am very sorry about your medical condition, but do not worry, we are here to take care of you. According to what you have described, I believe that you are experiencing an acneiform eruption, which may be linked to hormones, genetics, or internal inflammation.
Here is a breakdown of what might be happening and how to manage it beyond temporary solutions:
Hormonal imbalance – Especially if the acne worsens around your menstrual cycle, on your jawline or chin, or during stress.
Oily skin and clogged pores – If your skin is naturally oily, topical creams alone may not be enough to control it.
Diet or gut health – High intake of sugar, dairy products, or processed foods can trigger inflammation in sensitive individuals.
Incorrect skin care – Using harsh products or washing your face too often can damage your skin barrier.
I would suggest the following long-term treatment options:
Oral medicines: Tablet Doxycycline 100 milligrams (mg) by mouth three times a day for two weeks.
Hormonal treatments: Such as birth control pills or Spironolactone for women, taken two times a day for one month.
Topical Isotretinoin (generic form of Accutane), applied two times a day for one month.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.
Thank you.
