Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had breast reduction surgery a few days ago. Everything is perfect except I have a weird breakout on my face of tiny white pimples mostly on my upper lip area and down the sides of my chin.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

It would be great if you can upload a picture of the problem area. A picture is worth a thousand words. From your description, a few things come to mind. It may be a viral infection that got activated because of the recent surgery. Our body sees surgery as stress and in all stressful events there is weakened immunity and as a result, some infections get reactivated. Such infections are herpes zoster or herpes labialis both caused by reactivation of a virus in states of decreased immunity. This could be a problem if those pimples are irritating and a bit painful. Filled with clear fluid and found in groups. If this is the case, then it will take around two weeks to go. You should follow up with a dermatologist. These could be new infections you acquired during your stay at the hospital. Please discuss the same will your family doctor.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
