Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a teenager, and I have started experiencing breakouts. I have combination skin. When I wash my face and do not apply any moisturizer, it feels dry at first, but becomes oily as the day goes on.
Previously, I only had breakouts around my nose, but now they have started to appear across the central areas of my face, including my cheeks (especially near the nose), chin, nose, and forehead. The pimples are small and red, and some seem to be beneath the skin's surface. I have also noticed that the creases around my nose are very red, with small bumps and numerous blackheads. Could you please recommend a gentle cleanser and a suitable moisturizer for my skin type? Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I completely understand your concerns.
You have mild acne along with some blackheads, particularly around the nose. This condition requires proper care and treatment for effective improvement. You can use a gentle cleanser and a moisturizer for your face. Here are some general skincare and lifestyle tips:
You can use any gentle facial cleanser available on the market.
Acne-prone areas require special care and treatment. Apply a moisturizer to your entire face, but avoid the acne-prone areas.
Please avoid using any hair oil or heavy, greasy cream on your face.
Limit intake of oily foods, chocolates, and dairy products, as they can sometimes aggravate acne.
You must protect your skin from dust and sun exposure. Use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
When applying any cream, avoid rubbing it into the skin. Apply the cream gently.
Do not use steroid creams on your face.
Continue the treatment consistently for at least one month to see results.
Please note that face washes or soaps alone are not sufficient for acne treatment.
Do not touch, prick, or squeeze the acne to prevent scarring.
Treatment plan:
Morning Hours: Apply Clindamycin gel gently over your entire face. This will prevent and treat acne.
Night Care: Apply Adapalene gel specifically on your acne-affected areas.
Medication: Take Doxycycline 100 mg once daily. Continue this for one month unless advised otherwise.
Kindly consult your doctor and take medicines accordingly.
With consistent use, you will notice changes and improvement. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
I hope this helps.
Kindly revert if there is any query.
Thank you.
