What is the best skincare routine for oily acne-prone skin?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have oily skin and acne. I have tried many products, but they do not seem to work. Because of my oily skin, my face and neck are darker than the rest of my body. Please help me find the right products for my face. Also, many of the products I have used make my face dry. I am also black, so some products did not have any effect at all.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Based on your description, it seems you have oily skin with acne.

I suggest you to use the following:

Faceclin Gel (Clindamycin Topical 1% w/w, Nicotinamide 4% w/w) during the daytime over pimples and Microbenz 3.5% Gel at night over your entire face for around two to three months.

For cleansing your face, you can use Face Care Face Wash twice daily.

You need to follow certain dietary restrictions, such as avoiding oily, spicy food, junk food, dairy products, and non-vegetarian foods.

Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated.

Products like moisturizers and foundations should be chosen according to skin type. For oily skin, water-based formulations are recommended.

The cost of the product or the manufacturing company should not determine your purchase, as less expensive products may sometimes provide equal or better results.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
