Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having an issue with my butthole, as there is discomfort due to itching and redness around it. Now, it also feels like there are small bumps. I noticed that there is something white in my poop if that is connected to this somehow. I do not usually feel any pain, but there is sometimes a little bearable pain that is causing me discomfort. Also, there is a non-bearable pain if I masturbate for a long time. I have never had sex, and this issue started four months ago, but it stopped, and now it started again. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I can offer some general information that may be helpful.

Itching, redness, and bumps around the anal area can have various causes, including:

1. Hemorrhoids: Swollen blood vessels in the rectal area can cause itching, discomfort, and small bumps.

2. Anal fissures: Small tears in the lining of the anus can cause pain, itching, and sometimes bleeding.

3. Skin conditions: Conditions such as dermatitis or psoriasis can affect the skin around the anus and cause redness, itching, and bumps.

4. Hygiene issues: Insufficient hygiene or excessive wiping can irritate the skin and lead to discomfort and itching.

The presence of something white in your stools may suggest mucus, which can be a sign of inflammation or infection in the digestive tract. It is important to consult with a healthcare provider for a proper evaluation and diagnosis. They can examine your symptoms, take a detailed medical history, and recommend appropriate tests or treatments. In the meantime, you can try some self-care measures to alleviate your symptoms:

1. Keep the area clean: Gently clean the anal area with mild soap and water after bowel movements. Avoid harsh soaps or excessive scrubbing.

2. Moisturize: Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer or petroleum jelly to the affected area to soothe irritation.

3. Avoid irritants: Avoid using scented toilet paper, wipes, or harsh chemicals in the anal area that can further irritate the skin.

4. Maintain good hygiene: Practice good hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly before and after using the bathroom.

I hope you find this information helpful.

Take care.
