Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My partner's uterus is in an anteverted position and is larger than usual, measuring approximately 4.13 x 2.4 x 2.24 inches. The endometrium, the lining of the uterus, is notably thick, measuring 0.63 inches in thickness. A submucous fibroid measuring 1.3 x 1.14 inches is present and shows a few tiny cystic spaces. Additionally, a smaller fibroid measuring 0.55 x 0.26 inches is located close to the back of the endometrium. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The sonography findings you have shown present findings of fibroids which are small however size of the uterus is more than normal and the fibroid might cause abnormal bleeding or pain during menses. Its management may be decided by the complaints you are having at present.

I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Is the next procedure D&C? She has only one child and is aged 19. You had mentioned the size of the uterus, which may be due to this fibroid growth. The second fibroid is also in the same layer or its location has any complications. Treatment will be preferred as per your view.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, if she has abnormal uterine bleeding, first we need to do a dilatation and curettage with a hysteroscopy under a skilled person. We will see the reports of the biopsy sample and accordingly decide. Also to mention the size of the fibroid is quite small but the uterus is a bit bulky so it is always better to get evaluated because the size of the uterus and the size of the fibroid are different.

I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Thank you.
