Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been in a relationship now for three years. It has been both physically and emotionally abusive. I tell myself over and over again I need to get out of this situation. I used to have anxiety issues in the past, and I feel they have returned. I think my mental state is unhappy. A lot of the time I wish I did not exist. I feel vulnerable, controlled, and trapped. For whatever reason I convince myself there is no way out. I wake up every day dreading it and what problem will I encounter now? My heart beats so hard it could fall out of my chest. I need help. Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com
You are going through a tough time but this phase will pass. I know it is easier said than done but you have to move on. Some simple steps that can be of help are:
1. Meditation daily for at least half an hour in the morning helps you to relax and focus.
2. Follow a routine and exercise regularly and take a balanced diet. Aerobic exercises for at least half an hour thrice a week have been found to be helpful.
3. Share your feelings with family or close friends as sharing helps. Or maintain a stress diary and daily log down your thoughts uncensored.
4. You can also enroll in psychotherapy.
Remember every problem has a solution you just need to try solving it and help is just a step away. I hope this will help you.
Thank you.
