How can a teenager deal with anxiety attacks?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am sixteen and want to do a lot in life, but I have anxiety attacks. I do not feel comfortable in my skin, and I cry every hour of the day. I cannot take that anxiety demon out of my head, and I have become a problem for people around me. No one in my surroundings believes I am depressed. They think of me as a joke. I am unsure what to do and cannot handle this any more. I am helpless, feeling down, and cannot do anything anymore. Please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query thoroughly and completely understand your concern.

There is a solution to every issue, so do not worry. You should attempt to solve it, and help is just a step away. Consult a psychiatrist in person for a thorough assessment and appropriate treatment. Additionally, everyday relaxation exercises like breathing exercises might help you unwind and reduce your worry. If it is not possible, maintain a log book and daily log down your thoughts uncensored and never read them again. Share your feelings with your family and close friends because sharing helps a lot.

I hope that answers your question.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.
