Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been experiencing aortic valve problems, and currently, I am taking two types of medication daily: Cardace 2.5 mg and Lasilactone 50 mg. Previously, about a month ago, I was taking Lasilactone and Envas 2.5 mg. I would appreciate your suggestion on which combination of medications would be more beneficial for me. Currently, I do not exhibit any symptoms. Additionally, I would like to know which valve option would be more suitable for my condition.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I have reviewed your investigations, and despite the presence of aortic regurgitation, your heart is in good working condition, maintaining an ejection fraction (EF) of around 65 %.

Both the tablets Cardace (containing Ramipril) and Envas (containing Enalapril) are ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitors that serve a similar function. They are equally effective in reducing the preload and afterload on the heart, which benefits your aortic valve.

Tablet Lasilactone is a combination medication that includes diuretics such as Furosemide and Spironolactone. This combination further helps in reducing the workload on your heart.

Based on this information, you can continue taking the tablets Cardace and Lasilactone as prescribed.

I have a question regarding your medical history. Do you have hypertension or a history of rheumatic fever or rheumatic heart disease? It is important to consider these factors since the cause of aortic valve disease at your age should be thoroughly evaluated.

I recommend you get the RA (rheumatoid arthritis) factor test done and share the requested information along with the investigation results. This will enable me to provide you with further guidance based on a comprehensive understanding of your condition.

I hope I have addressed your concerns. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Thank you.
