Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 40-year-old female and have been suffering from dry eyes for a week. Sometimes, I wake up with pain in my right eye. I work in front of the computer for around ten hours a day. I consulted an ophthalmologist and was prescribed artificial tears. Can it help in reducing eye pain in my right eye or will it work in reducing dry eyes alone? Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Artificial tears can definitely help in reducing both dry eyes and associated eye pain. Since you work long hours in front of a computer, which can contribute to dry eyes, using artificial tears as directed by your ophthalmologist can provide relief by moisturizing and lubricating your eyes. Additionally, following the 20-20-20 rule (taking a 20-second break every 20 minutes to look at something 20 feet away) and ensuring proper blinking while working on the computer can also help alleviate symptoms. If you continue to experience pain or discomfort, it is essential to follow up with your ophthalmologist for further evaluation and management.
I hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
