How to get rid of painful vaginitis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My lab tested motile yeast fungal infection, and later the X-ray scan showed I have had chronic PID and cervicitis from last year. I have been taking medication, but it is coming back. Now I am four months pregnant but my vagina is having a painful sensation and it is dark like it is washed and worn out.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Thanks for trusting us with your health care. I have gone through your history and understand your concerns. Your symptoms are suggestive of vaginitis, which is mainly due to fungal infection.

  1. Keep the area dry and clean.

  2. Drink a lot of warm water and a soft diet.

  3. Use antifungal medicine and cream for application.

  4. Wear cotton undergarments, eat curd more, and be sugarless.

  5. Do not wash the vagina frequently with water.

  6. Check your blood sugar.

I hope this helps.

Kindly follow up if you have more concerns.

Thank you.
