Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I just had posterior stabilization for a compressed fracture at T12. When can I resume normal activity? What about my sex life? Will this affect the rest of my life?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The probable diagnosis is post-T12 posterior stabilization. Resuming normal activity depends upon the exact surgery done, but usually, the patient can start walking the very next day of surgery. But make sure that you get up from the bed by lying on one side, then getting up sideways. This should not affect your sex life (assuming the spinal cord is normal).
Also, it should not affect the rest of your life if healing after surgery goes well. This professional advice provided by me stands subject to the actual examination of the report or image and is based entirely on the inputs provided to me. It should be correlated with clinical findings.
Hope this answers your query.
Regards.
