Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been using a delay spray frequently and applying an excessive amount to my penis. Now, I am experiencing pain and a burning sensation in my penis. I consulted a doctor who prescribed Betnovate cream and Doxy-1 for a 10-day period. I am wondering how long it will take for my condition to return to normal, and if there is any cause for concern. I have also been taking Mesacol OD tablets for ulcerative colitis for the past 7 years, and I am currently in remission. Could my ulcerative colitis be related to this pain in my penis? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

The healing time for your condition can vary, but typically it takes around 15 days. The exact duration may depend on factors like individual blood supply to the area and physical activities. there is no direct connection between the use of Mesacol (Mesalazine) or ulcerative colitis (UC) and the pain in your penis. This discomfort is likely a result of local injury due to the excessive use of the spray, and it may take some time to heal.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

I have been taking these medicines for 9 days as prescribed by the doctor, and the prescribed duration is for 10 days only. What should I do after completing the 10-day course of medication?

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can safely discontinue the medication once you have completed the 10-day course. How are you feeling now? Have you noticed any improvement in your symptoms?

If there has not been any improvement, I would suggest you consider a Doppler study to further evaluate the situation. If you have experienced improvement, it is a positive sign. You can continue with this progress and wait for another week.

Remember to stay well-hydrated by drinking an adequate amount of water and consider incorporating regular exercise into your routine for overall health.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
