Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am staying with my boyfriend and will finish the birth control pills. I need more birth control pills. I am just worried about buying any medication because I know these pills were prescribed to me because of my weight and because my gynecologist knows what is best for me, but I cannot contact her. I need to know which pill would be close to Minastrin. I have found pills called Qlaira and also Facetix. Please help me choose which pill to buy.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Let me tell you that you are taking a regular contraceptive pill. These pills have 24 active pills of Estrogen and Progesterone. This has nothing to do with your weight. Your weight is normal. Any of the medications with 24 (active) and four (inactive) pills or 21 (only active) pills will work. Some good brands are the tablet Novelon (Estrogen and Progesterone), and the Ovral tablet (Levonorgestrel and Ethinyl estradiol). If it is a pack of 28 pills, keep having it regularly as you do now. If a packet has 21 pills, have it for 21 days or give a gap of 7 days, and then start the next packet from the eighth day. Keep taking cyclically like this.

I hope this information will help.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
