Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 2-month-old daughter was born with a birthmark on the right side of her chest. Is it normal? I am attaching photos. We were told it is nothing to worry about but to monitor it for 1 to 2 years. I just want a second opinion to ensure this. Just to note that baby is developing fine, growing normally, taking vaccines and 150 ml of milk at every feed.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I have gone through images and appreciate your pictures (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). It looks like vascular birthmark, most of them benign in nature. Need to observe, often majority of them has spontaneous resolution. Are there any other body parts involved? As baby grows, watch for increase in size and site involved. I suggest if possible and feasible, have vascular surgeon opinion once baby grows ,may be at 1 year of age.

I hope this helps.
