Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I recently had a bitter taste in my mouth for three days, but it seems to have subsided a bit, although I am feeling a bit of a malaise. I also started developing pins and needles around my body on and off for three days. It has been relatively continuous but feels like shocks or a tingling sensation. This is ongoing. The doctor said that it is a viral infection.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I understand your concern regarding changes in creatinine level, malaise, and tingling sensation-like feeling. So, first of all, malaise is likely due to viral infections or nutritional deficiency, which is not the case here. It could better be explained by viral infection. Your creatinine level varies slightly in every report because it depends on muscle mass, protein intake, hydration status, and drug-induced. A GFR above 60 is good enough, and you do not fit the kidney injury criteria. You can get a urine routine test. What about your alcohol or smoking consumption? How much non-vegetarian diet do you take per day? Any illicit drug use?

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

There is no history of alcohol or drug intake. The urine dipstick only shows trace protein. Should I be concerned about the MCHC? It is above the 350 range. Should I wait for symptoms to go and retest blood in two months?

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Regarding your MCHC (mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration), I cannot see any apparent cause for the raised MCHC in your reports. I suggest you better wait for a few months and check it later—no need to worry about that.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
