Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My left eye has a spot near black circle. I do not know what it is and how it will vanish. I did not remember but it is from years in my eyes.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your photo (attachment removed to protect patient identity). I feel it could be a conjunctival nevus, given that you have had it since a long time and it did not cause you to have any symptoms. Such swellings have a tendency to grow in size during teenage or early adulthood, but usually, stop growing spontaneously. They do not cause any symptoms and are harmless in the long run. On the other hand, it could rarely be a small cancerous growth. Such swelling is called melanoma, although rare it presents with pain, foreign body sensation, redness and blood vessels growing around it. The best way to confirm the diagnosis is by excision biopsy wherein the swelling is cut out and put under a microscope. Given the rarity of this cancer and you being asymptomatic, I suggest that an eye examination whenever possible would suffice to clear your doubts.
