Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Many black spots (mole type) have started appearing on my face and neck recently along with acne. I have a problem with constipation also. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. I have seen the images (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity). The appearance of black spots on your face and neck could be due to various factors, including moles, age spots, freckles, or even a condition called melasma. It would be best to have these spots evaluated by a dermatologist who can provide a proper diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment options. For your acne, it can be caused by a variety of factors such as hormonal changes, genetics, diet, stress, or skincare routine. Constipation can sometimes be related to dietary choices, lack of hydration, or lifestyle factors. It is generally recommended to increase water intake, consume a fiber-rich diet with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and engage in regular physical activity.

I would suggest that this issue could be treated with a derma roller, also known as micro-needling, which is a cosmetic procedure that involves rolling a device covered in small needles over the skin. The purpose of using a derma roller is to create tiny punctures in the skin, which are believed to stimulate collagen production and promote skin rejuvenation.

Here are a few things to consider if you are interested in using a derma roller:

1. Consult a professional: It is advisable to consult with a dermatologist or skin care professional before using a derma roller, especially if you have any underlying skin conditions or concerns. They can evaluate your skin and advise you on the best course of action.

2. Safety precautions: If you decide to use a derma roller at home, ensure that you follow proper hygiene practices by cleaning the device before and after use. Additionally, make sure to use a roller with an appropriate needle length for your specific needs and always follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer.

3. Skin preparation: Preparing your skin before using a derma roller is important. This typically involves thoroughly cleansing your skin and applying a topical numbing cream, if recommended by your healthcare professional.

4. Post-treatment care: After using a derma roller, it is essential to take good care of your skin. Use gentle skincare products and avoid sun exposure for a few days, as your skin will be more sensitive.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
