Which medications can help reduce black marks on the back?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 25 years old and physically and mentally fit. However, I have some skin issues on my back, particularly on my shoulders. There are a lot of black marks on my back and shoulders. Could you please recommend any lotion, cream, or soap that could help with this condition?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The details you have provided are not sufficient to make a complete diagnosis. We need more information, so please let us know about the climatic conditions in your area. Do you sweat a lot? Do you frequently scratch your back? Are you eating nutritious food?

In the meantime, I am suggesting some lotions and medications. I recommend using a lotion containing calamine and antihistamines. Apply it twice daily after bathing. Bathe daily using a mild glycerin-based soap, and avoid using the same soap for both your genitals and the rest of your body. Also, use separate towels for your body, face, and genitals. Wash your clothes frequently, and do not wear the same clothes multiple times. Additionally, take a multivitamin tablet daily. You may try these suggestions, but please provide us with all the necessary details so we can assist you better. Also, consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
