After my bladder tumor was treated, scans were clear, but now I am being told that the recurrence risk remains high.

Why does bladder cancer have such a high recurrence rate at 54?

Does it mean the treatment did not really work, or that the bladder lining itself is unstable?

How long does this cycle of cystoscopies and fear usually last?

I get worried every time there is a test and I have the feeling that I will be getting bad news all the time. Learning how the cancer acts could help me deal with my anxiety and worries.
