Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to iCliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Based on your symptoms, it is highly likely that you have developed pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which is usually caused by a bacterial, viral, or fungal infection transmitted through sexual contact. This is supported by the positive leukocyte esterase test and the elevated white blood cell (WBC) or pus cell count.
The following treatment is recommended:
-
Ceftriaxone injection: 1 gram as a single dose.
-
Doxycycline: 100 mg, two tablets by mouth (PO) twice daily (BID) for two weeks.
-
Metronidazole: 400 mg, two tablets by mouth (PO) three times daily (TID) for two weeks.
I hope this information is helpful. For any further queries, feel free to consult me on iCliniq.
Thank you.

Hello doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
The pain and burning sensation continues to grow. I just got started with the two antibiotics.
Did you suggest the injection to be a one time shot or to be taken for a few days?
Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I recommend taking antibiotic injections for one week, as the situation indicates a penile infection.

Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
- Are you suggesting that I take it daily for seven days?
- Also. Should this injection be infused as IV (intravenously) or can be directly injected via a syringe?
I would like to update you also that I had a PCNL (percutaneous nephrolithotomy) followed by RIRS (retrograde intrarenal surgery) due to huge kidney stone. During this time, I developed UTI (urinary tract infection) and was on Moropenum for two weeks.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome back to iCliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Yes, it should be taken daily for seven days and administered directly via syringe. Regarding your PCNL (percutaneous nephrolithotomy) and RIRS (retrograde intrarenal surgery), the intravenous medication will provide additional benefits in managing the urinary tract infection and supporting the treatment of kidney stones.
I hope this information is helpful. For any further queries, feel free to consult me on iCliniq.
Thank you.

Hello doctor,
Do you think doing an "urine culture" test will help identify the specific bacteria that needs to be treated?

Patient's Query
Hi Doctor, thanks for the help.
I wanted to also update you that my nipples have started itching since a month. This happens around 8- 10 times in a day. I typically scratch them when I develop an itch and it lasts for around 10 minutes. Is it related to the above issue as well?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to iCliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
No, it is not related to it. I believe you are experiencing an allergic reaction around the nipple area.
Please take the following medication to help:
-
Cetirizine 25 milligrams, one tablet by mouth (PO) once daily (QD) for three days.
I hope this information is helpful. For any further queries, feel free to consult me on iCliniq.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi Doctor,
I got an urine routine done again and below are the changes since we began on 01/Mar:
- 01/Mar: Leucocytes (Esterase) - Present ++ (75), WBC (Pus Cells) - 42, Urobilinogen - Normal, Ketone Bodies Urine - Negative
- 05/Mar: Leucocytes (Esterase) - Present ++ (75), WBC (Pus Cells) - 40, Urobilinogen - Normal, Ketone Bodies Urine - Negative
- 10/Mar: Leucocytes (Esterase) - Present + (25), WBC (Pus Cells) - 2, Urobilinogen - PRESENT + (2.0), Ketone Bodies Urine - Trace.
As you prescribed, I am on injection Ceftriaxone 1g 7 days, then 2 Tab Doxycycline 100mg PO bid for 2 weeks, 2 Tab Metronidazole 400mg PO tid for 2 weeks. I have pain still while urinating. Should the presence of urobilinogen and ketone bodies be a cause of concern?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to iCliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I can see there is a significant improvement in your urinary tract infection (UTI) diagnosis based on the lab parameters. However, I am concerned about the presence of urobilinogen and trace ketones, as these findings may be related to hepatic (liver) origin. I noticed in your previous report that you tested positive for the Hepatitis C virus, which I believe is still active and contributing to hepatitis. I recommend that you undergo a liver function test and share the results with me. Meanwhile, please start taking Tenofovir 25 milligram, one tablet by mouth (PO) once daily (QD) for one month to manage the hepatitis.
I hope this information is helpful. For any further queries, feel free to consult me on iCliniq.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Would you mind letting me know if the hepatitis C virus infection showing up now is related to current situation? Or is it unrelated?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to iCliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I believe it is unrelated to the current condition, as I suspect there is a coexisting Hepatitis C infection alongside the present issue. Since the Hepatitis C infection has not yet been controlled, it has likely begun to gradually manifest itself.
I hope this information is helpful. For any further queries, feel free to consult me on iCliniq.
Thank you.
Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
