What can be done to prevent bleaching of the skin?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a very sensitive dark skin that is getting bleached by everything I apply on it, including olive oil, shea butter and many creams. What can I do?

Thank you.

Hi,

We welcome you to the icliniq.com family.

I appreciate the confidence you place in me for your healthcare consultation.

Regarding your symptoms, I propose you have developed a skin dermopathy. I suggest doing a serum cortisol level and reverting with the result. I suggest taking the following:

1. Ointment 0.2 % Tacrolimus (immunosuppressant) for eczema or atopic

2. Ointment 0.05 % Clobetasol (steroid) once daily or 0.2 % Hydrocortisone (steroid) for three months

I hope that you get your answer.

Please let me know if you have further queries.

Thank you.
