Patient's Query
Hi doctor,I bloated all the time, no matter what I eat. I have always had stomach acid, and bloating has increased rapidly. I have gone to doctors, but all they prescribe does not heal me; it causes more bloating. I cannot take vitamins; they irritate me so badly that I thought it was a diary; after eating for two to three hours, bloating starts and does not stop.Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
As you have symptoms of bloating and epigastric pain due to acidity. According to your symptoms, you may have gastric ulcer, which causes your stomach ache, and the cause of your stomach ulcer may be due to Helicobacter pylori bacteria or NSAID-induced. First of all, you need to test for stool H.pylori antigen test; if negative, you are a candidate for upper GI (gastrointestinal) endoscopy to see with a camera that you do not have any gastric ulcers.
Coming towards bloating, which may be due to electrolyte imbalance, which is caused by gastric ulcers plus persistent vomiting as you have had during your illness. For this, you need to do an ECG (electrocardiogram) and a serum electrolyte level to rule out the electrolyte imbalance. Things to avoid until your tests are done are spicy foods, cold drinks, cigarette smoking, coffee, and NSAID (non-steroidal inflammatory drugs). To decrease bloating, you can take a tablet of Ondansetron 8 mg thrice a day before a meal until your test report is available.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
