Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 24 years old. 4 feet 11 inches in height and 121 pounds. I have extreme fatigue, random bruising, and very painful joint pain. It is gotten so much worse over the last two months it is unbearable. In my blood work, I had NRBC 0.5, the doctor did not do anything about it and when I should be getting a bone marrow biopsy? He says it is nothing to worry about but everyone else says that is not normal and could eventually explain my symptoms. I wanted your opinion about NRBC being in my blood.
Hello,
Welcome to the icliniq.com.
I have read your concern, and below is my opinion. The 0.5 normoblasts cannot be considered high. However, if you can attach your report than I can check it. In hemolytic anemia, NRBC (nucleated red blood cell) can be raised. So you need to investigate with full CBC, peripheral smear examination report, serum LDH, and reticulocyte count for primary workup. For joint pain serum ANA, RA factor, and local joint X-ray needed.
As you have bruise complaint as well you need to investigate with PT, APTT, the liver profile also reports for further workup. You can apply vitamin K containing cream over bruise for getting relief. Oral vitamin C tablet 500 mg BD also will be beneficial for that. I hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further in solving your doubts.
